Sultana's
BackgroundSultana has been involved in Middle East Dance since 1982 and instructing since 1992.
She was performing in restaurants and nightclubs only a few months after starting belly dance classes and later explored ethnic
folk dances of the Middle East. She developed her own teaching style of logical progression from basic moves through professional
performance focusing on isolations and use of music. Some of her students are among the top professional performers in the
Portland, Oregon area today, five of her former students are now teaching and numerous students have won awards. Sultana travels
to Egypt frequently where she constantly increases her knowledge of this awesome dance form
